You set a timer for fifteen minutes and do nothing during that time but write.
I did a total of six sprints today, all at different times. One when I got up (NOT at 4:30). Another after I ate breakfast. There was a third and fourth sometime during the day when I was not too busy. The fifth was while I waited for dinner to finish cooking and the last one was just now. Fifteen minutes before I go to brush my teeth for the night.
Those six little sets of 15 minutes totaled one and a half hours out of my whole day.
Do you know how many words I managed to race through? 2,154
I repeat: 2,154
My average for a whole two-hour block of time is only 2,000 words.
These sprints have increased my overall productivity and have taken less time. Plus, breaking it into these fifteen minute intervals makes it seem like it’s less work.
Sprints, where have you been all my life?
Watch out NaNoWriMo. I am coming for you!
Look for my NaNo update tomorrow night.
